Thermal Technology 2024 welcomes 3,537 visitors, breaking preceding edition’s record

21 Oct 2024

An important platform for Japan’s industrial furnace and thermal technology sectors, Thermal Technology 2024 wrapped after two successful days of business at the Knowledge Capital Convention Center in Osaka. Held from 10 – 11 October 2024, the fifth edition welcomed over 93 exhibitors and 3,537 industry visitors, around 16% increase on the previous edition’s total (2019: 3,056 visitors). Organised by Messe Frankfurt Japan Ltd and the Japan Industrial Furnace Manufacturers Association, the fair provided a variety of opportunities for exhibitors and visitors to connect throughout the venue, and gain insights on the latest market trends and technology updates.

Usually held every four years, the fair was postponed from 2023 to 2024 due to the impact of the global pandemic, and industry players were eager to reconnect. Thermal Technology 2024 gave opportunities to 93 industrial furnaces and equipment exhibitors (domestic: 92, overseas: 1) to showcase their latest technologies, and discuss business with furnace manufacturers, equipment companies and more.

Mr Fumihiro Ito, at SDG Co., Ltd., which also exhibited the 2019 edition, said: “As we know, this fair is an effective advertising opportunity to increase our presence in the industrial furnace industry, and we were able to exchange business cards with more than 100 visitors on the first day alone. Most have had a sense of purpose, therefore, it has been easy for us to conduct business negotiations. We look forward to future business development.”

Exhibiting for the first time, Ms Midori Isojima, at Panasonic Corporation Heating & Ventilation AC Company, stated: “We exhibited at Thermal Technology 2024 in order to meet with industrial furnace manufacturers and factory-related professionals who are facing heat problems. As a result, we could conduct a number of business meetings close to double that of our preliminary target. We are sure that we will conclude some contracts.”

Mr Shinichi Takahashi, Chairman of Japan Industrial Furnace Manufacturers Association, commented: “Compared to the previous edition, we found that the ideas of energy conservation and decarbonisation that we stand for have spread throughout the industry, and the exhibition was full of vitality for both exhibitors and visitors.”

The show’s fringe programme consisted of 21 special seminars and presentations by exhibitors, across topics ranging from “Action to achieve carbon neutrality in energy” to “The latest technology and future prospects of high frequency induction heating”. Most of the events played host to enthusiastic audiences, with attendees lining up for the discussions on the latest technologies and industry trends.
